MKN Client Resource: Why I Love Good Eggs

Bay Area MKN Clients and Friends,

I wanted to take a moment and share my big love for GoodEggs! They are my favorite grocery delivery service in the bay and a HUGE resource for my nutrition practice. Often when I’m recommending new foods to clients and they ask “Ok, where do I even find that?!?” I pull up GoodEggs, we surf the online store for everything they need, throw it in the cart, and it is delivered next day! Pretty amazing. And on top of that - MKN Clients AND Friends get $25 off your first order and $5 off every order after. I love this company. They make it so easy.

I also love Good Eggs because they source seasonal, local, organic produce and products that you don’t always find at the farmer’s market or grocery store or don’t have time to make at home. Like sauerkraut – who always has time to make homemade sauerkraut? I don’t. And their prepared foods, meal kits, and CSA’s are life savers for my busy clients. I even recommend them for my Personal Chef clients when I am away… they’re that good.

What’s in My Good Eggs Box?

In my most recent delivery I ordered:

Organic Lilikoi (Passionfruit), which is in season and coming from Swift Subtropicals in Los Osos, CA. Lilikoi is my all-time favorite fruit and although I try to avoid topical fruit from a sustainability stand-point, Good Eggs makes it possible, easy, and affordable to enjoy. Lilikoi is high in Vitamin C and other compounds to support your immune system, digestion, nervous system, and heart health.

Organic Raw Sea Kraut from the Cultured Pickle Shop. Fermented foods and seaweed are a nourishing bang-bang for your digestion. The winning combo promotes healthy bacteria in the gut, which supports a healthy mind and body. This sauerkraut is the bomb, and you should try it. If you are new to kraut or fermented foods in general, start with 1-2 tbsp/day and work up from there.

Turmeric Chicken Bone Broth Cup from Nona Lim . Yes, I always advise my clients to make bone broth at home, but not everyone has the time or patience. Nona Lim’s personal cups are perfect for my working clients who want to sip on bone broth at the office or on the go. Great for healing your digestion, cooling inflammation, and building immunity during cold season.

Organic Fava Greens from Knoll Farms. Have you tried Fava Greens?!? They are the tender leaf of the fava bean plant and oh so buttery and delicious. I love tossing them into salads or lightly sautéing them as a delicate side (like you would spinach). They also make a cute garnish. High in folate and B Vitamins when raw.

Organic Edible Flowers from Kenter Canyon Farms. Edible flowers are fancy, yes, but what’s wrong with making your meal a little fancy every now and then. When we enjoy the look of our food, we prepare our body for digestion. This batch is full of Marigolds which have anti-anxiety properties and take on a saffron-esque flavor profile. They are rich in nutrients and add a nice touch to my client’s cooking.

So that’s why I love Good Eggs. Well-sourced, reliable, nourishing food. What more could you want?
